Just a reminder that the end of the second quarter is coming up at the end of the month. Progress Reports were sent home recently in black folders so you should have seen them at this point.
The class has a quiz in math on exponential growth and decay on Friday. We will finish going over everything today and we will review tomorrow. It is one of the last grades to go into gradebook this quarter, and it is the best chance your child has to improve or solidify their grade for the quarter.
Remember that every points counts when looking at high school options.
Our class has moved on to the full size green textbook this week. We are going to spend some time working through the first few chapters, which are review, which will set us up for the more rigorous algebra chapters that follow.
Coonley will be hosting a parent and student high school night on November 15th, Report Card Pick up day.
A flyer was sent home today with students. I highly encourage everyone to make every effort to attend.

I hope to see everyone tomorrow,
I am excited to get another school year started. This year I will be the math teacher for all 7th grade math students, both neighborhood and options. I am looking forward to working with three all new classes.
I have been a middle school math teacher at Coonley for many years, 5th through 8th grade students. I feel this gives me comprehensive knowledge of all the topics a middle school student is expected to master as they prepare for high school.
As you may know, I am the athletic director and I coach many athletic teams. This limits the time that I am available after school. Email is the best and most direct way to reach me, firstname.lastname@example.org
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
